The front page of the National Post today read "Miss Universe Enjoys Visit To Guantanamo Bay - Full Story A3" From what I remember this paper is just cynical enough to follow a story like this and this crazy world is just crazy enough to give them one, so I didn't blink. Things are fucked up like that, I  thought. Later my Mom was relating this APRIL FOOLS JOKE to my sister on the phone. "My son, the doctoral student," she says, "doesn't even get an April Fools joke, figures." So what, does Michel Houellebecq work for the Post now? 

Anyway, on A3 there's some story about a mexican drug lord reaching the Forbes magazine's richest people list, a woman opening fire in a B.C. nursing home, and painting the Eiffel tower brown. I asked my mom how we're supposed to know which of the stories is real and she said, "Oh, they tell you tomorrow." THAT'S INSANE.

It's a crazy world.

They should sell tickets.

I'd buy one.
